Pinwheel Blend Morning Glory Seeds

Ipomoea purpurea

These quick-growing, heirloom morning glories climb and ramble, decorating with their pretty heart-shaped leaves and blossoms along the way. Flowers open to greet the day and stay open until mid-day or all day if it is cloudy. Each day a new set of blossoms form, which gives them an ever-changing allure and reminds us to enjoy the moment. Grown as an annual, although perennial in USDA zones 10 and warmer. Deer resistant. Caution: Parts of this plant are toxic if ingested.

Planting Details

Seed Depth ½"
Seed Spacing A group of 3 seeds every 6"–12"
Thinning When 2" tall, thin to 1 every 6"–12"
Germination 5–15 Days
Start Indoors 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting outside. Sow into a biodegradable pot that can be directly planted in the ground to avoid disturbing roots.
Direct Sow RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date. Plants started too early outside will end up less vigorous than plants started when warmer.
Special Sowing Seeds with hard coats, like morning glories, can benefit from scarification, a means of breaking through the hard outer covering to allow moisture to penetrate. There are a few ways to accomplish this: either nick the seeds with sandpaper or an nail clipper, or soak them in water for 12 to 24 hours prior to sowing.

Your seeds are great. Everything I plant comes up--then it either flourishes or I do something wrong or extreme weather then I might lose it. Enough vegetables to give to neighbors. Flowers plenty to share with family and friends. Please keep doing what you are doing. You are a great business!

My Morning Glory seeds were easy to grow. I planted them along both sides of my arbor leading into the vegetable garden. They turned out stunning. Beautiful colors I can see from my kitchen window. I will definitely be planting them again next year. High quality seeds.
