In response to a previous unfounded one-star review about planting this mix in Colorado, it’s worth noting that this seed blend is designed for the Midwest region. Colorado falls within the Mountain West, and Botanical Interests offers region-appropriate options like the Western Glide Butterfly Gift Set. Knowing your region matters when planting native.
For gardeners within the intended region of the Midwestern states, this is an excellent native species prairie mix that’s easy to grow if you follow the instructions. Botanical Interests really shines when it comes to education included within their packets. For someone like me who values nuance, their packaging is PACKED from margin to margin (look inside!) with thoughtful growing and contextual information.
I’ve had excellent germination with B.I. seeds, and the packet artwork makes them perfect for a gift basket or starter kit. I often pair them with a few non-invasive annuals for a thoughtful, affordable, and ecologically responsible gift. They ship fast and often have deals going on for free shipping.

So, these didn't really grow. That being said, I ordered/sowed them at the wrong time. Here in Missouri, it would have been best to sow these a little earlier in the year or even the prior fall around the first frost/snow. That's what I did with some other native wildflower seeds and they have grown like crazy! I got overzealous and sowed these in March and it just didn't get cold enough for them to really get the "signal" that they can start growing. I would suggest timing shipments of these for the fall or perhaps just a stronger warning about the need for these natives to go through stratification. Overall, I don't think it was the seed that was the problem, but the timing.

Don't plant this in Colorado. It contains A. Syriaca, common milkweed. We have showy milkweed here that is close but not common. And our swamp milkweed is the yellow variety not the red/orange.
