Double Blend Portulaca (Moss Rose) Seeds

Portulaca grandiflora

Low-growing plants create a carpet of brilliantly colored, 1"–2" rose-like, double flowers that bloom on sunny days throughout the heat of summer. Very drought tolerant, moss roses need only occasional watering. Wonderful for dry banks and areas with reflected heat such as parking strips or along concrete sidewalks. Self-sows readily!

Great germination rate, and vigorous plants that survived the summer drought when little else did. Readily self seed. I had many volunteers in my planters from last year's, and I love them so much I sprinkled seeds in new pots. Great for the pots and hanging pots you can't remember to water enough.

WORTH THE WAIT!! I just spread these seeds in different places around my yard. They germinated well but took more than 60 days to mature to flowering. I have feeders for one resident hummingbird and she’s been so busy trying to chase away all the migratory hummingbirds flocking to these. The colors are vibrant and profuse. I wish BI would offer more colors. I ordered a different brand from Amazon and those didn’t germinate at all. I’m back to order a few more packets.
